The Three Valleys is known for its world-class skiing. But, for those who are ready for a day away from the slopes, there are so many things to do besides skiing. One popular option we're often asked about is where to go shopping. If you're looking for a bit of retail therapy during your time here in The Three Valleys, then this page is for you.
Meribel itself has some nice shops, and there is no shortage of places to stop for coffee or a cocktail. But, if you're looking for something special, then we usually recommend that our guests make the trip to the nearby resort of Courchevel 1850. If you're looking for a luxury shopping trip, or you're in search of that extra special gift, Courchevel is usually the place to go.
Courchevel 1850 is arguably the most prestigious resort in the Three Valleys ski area. Of course, we obviously think Meribel is unbeatable, especially when it comes to skiing. But if you want to rub shoulders with celebrities, royalty and the odd Russian oligarch, then Courchevel 1850 is the place to go. It's perhaps not surprising, then, that Courchevel 1850 is as famous for its luxury shopping as it is for its skiing.
Of course, the most fun way to get from Meribel to Courchevel is on skis. But, if you want to take a day away from the slopes, then a taxi is what we would usually recommend. If you are staying with us at Delicious Mountain, then of course we will be very happy to arrange this for you. The journey typically takes around 25 minutes, and costs €80, each way.
The shopping hub of Courchevel 1850 runs along Avenue Montagne. This is one of the main streets of the resort, and its 350 meters are dotted with luxury boutiques and restaurants. To help you find what you are looking for, we have put together a short directory of the shops which our guests ask us about the most. The most popular categories are fashion, ski apparel, jewellery, and gifts.
The shops of Courchevel 1850 are typically open from 8:45am to 7:30pm, but these times may vary from shop to shop. Many of the shops in Courchevel 1850 will close for a long lunch, ranging from 12:30pm to 3pm.
